Gracie Tyte aka @Pony_Nuts

I started properly riding when I was about 9 years old when we loaned a wonderful old coloured cob who was literally bomb proof until he set hoof on a stubble field and then there was no stopping him! Having learnt the ropes with him, I was lucky enough to meet Danny a 13.2hh 14yr old Connemara cross gelding - he promptly bucked me off in my first lesson and quite frequently thereafter, but he taught me so much as well as how to have a sticky bum. In 2017, we went on to attend 7 Championships including School teams, Pony Club and British Riding Club placing in the top 10 of all of them across dressage, eventing, showjumping and arena Eventing becoming National Champion 3 times and leading junior rider for the British Riding Clubs area section. Now 20 and enjoying a well deserved retirement, he rules the roost at home and was mostly to credit for the ever increasing followers of my Instagram account @pony_nuts as people loved watching this cheeky pony with the heart of a lion. My account continued to grow when Prince, another grey Connemara gelding, followed in his hoof steps (albeit much better behaved ones!) and it was with Prince I found my love of eventing, competing up to BE105 and showjumping to 1.10. I was incredibly proud to be selected as an Ambassador to represent British Eventing for 2019/2020. In early 2019, I also fufilled an ambition to buy and produce a young Connemara and after a three day pony sourcing trip around the wilds of Ireland Johnny joined the team  - he is turning into a really lovely horse, having blossomed in height and personality and he is going to be lots of fun in the future.

Sadly my legs grew far too long to continue riding Prince competitively so we had to part with him but I was pleased to welcome 16.2hh Bella into the family into September 2019. With a very clever brain and gentle personality at 6 years she has already proved her capabilities at the BYEH Championships and I am looking forward to going up the levels with her in eventing once we get to know each other better.

Being able to use Jump 4 Joy jumps at home has been invaluable to introduce her and Johnny to different challenges and the quality and lightness of the jumps make them so easy to move and create new courses and layouts at home without having to travel to venues with such facilities all the time, something I know my mum is very thankful for!

Now aged 16, I have a combined following of over 200,000 on Instagram on @pony_nuts, @gracietyte and @ponynuts_extras and 55,000 on YouTube Pony Nuts and our adventures, including the ups and the downs (but not quite so much falling off!) of owning, training and competing my lovely horses, which are well documented and I hope I give my followers a glimpse into the reality of a normal teenage girl balancing school and life with riding and horses.
